Count programs by specialty.
For the 2027 ERAS residency season, AAMC lists $11 per program for the first 30 programs in a specialty, then $30 for each additional program in that specialty. The tier resets for each specialty.
For example, 43 internal medicine applications cost $720 before other charges. Seven applications in another specialty add $77, for a combined $797. Qualifying Fee Assistance Program applicants receive a 70% reduction in eligible application fees.
Keep other costs separate.
Transcripts, taxes, Match registration, travel, moving costs, and other services can add to your total. Our ERAS fee worksheet does not estimate those charges or the fees of other application services.
Review the official fee schedule before submitting payment. Applying to more programs changes your cost; the calculator does not estimate your interview or Match probability.
Plan for the transition into residency.
