Curriculum & Education

Overview

The residency program in dermatology encompasses three years after completing a one year transitional or preliminary year for a total of four years. The program provides exposure to clinical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Multiple diagnostic and dermatologic physical modalities are employed for a variety of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric dermatologic conditions. The program emphasizes supervised direct patient care while utilizing various surgical and physical modalities that the resident will learn during the residency program’s three years. Resident didactics include weekly textbook reviews, dermatopathology slides, clinical images and board review sessions. The residents also attend a monthly journal club, weekly histopathology sessions and monthly grand rounds at Emory University Department of Dermatology. The dermatology residency program’s growth and success at PCOM North Fulton will be dependent on our variety of dedicated teaching faculty.

Application

Applicants must have completed an approved intern/transitional year to be considered for the program. All applicants must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service for Applicants (ERAS). All applicants for PCOM residency and fellowship programs must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
