The Regions Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency Program is open to International Medical Graduates (IMGs) as it participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), allowing applicants to submit their applications through their medical schools or the ECFMG (Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates). Curriculum & Education
Overview
Residents experience advanced sub-specialty training through exposure to a variety of HealthPartners Institute/Regions Hospital-based fellowships. They work in a significant role in emergency care across a wide area, and the Emergency Department is a recognized Center of Excellence.
Application
Regions Hospital EM residency offers 11 PGY-1 positions. Application deadline is November 1, 2023. Interview Invitations are sent on a rolling basis starting in early October. Program Response Deadline is December 15 (coincides with military match). A complete application includes transcript, Dean’s letter, letters of recommendation, and USMLE scores.

Fellowship
Recent graduates from the program often pursue advanced subspecialty training through various fellowships associated with the HealthPartners Institute/Regions Hospital.
