Application

Application submission is through the NRMP and ERAS. Applications are accepted exclusively through ERAS and must be complete. Interviews are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. The program does not sponsor international visas and requires that applicants are U.S. citizens or permanent residents at the time of application. Medical school graduation from an accredited school within the past three years is required, and observerships or research cannot fulfill the patient care requirement. A minimum of three letters of recommendation, including one from a family medicine physician, is needed, and passing scores on USMLE Step 1 & 2 or COMLEX 1 & 2 are mandatory. International Medical Graduates must obtain a valid ECFMG certification and a Louisiana intern permit by July 1st of the start of the residency.
