Curriculum & Education
Overview
Our training program transitions medical students through an experiential curriculum to develop them into independent practitioners, focusing on assessment, consultation, and preparation of patients for anesthesia; relief and prevention of pain during and following surgical, therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
Application
The Anesthesiology Residency Program annually accepts applications for 18 PGY-1 positions through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Requirements include a common application form, personal statement, medical school transcript, MSPE/Dean’s Letter, a minimum of 3 letters of recommendation, a photograph, USMLE transcript, and ECFMG status report for foreign graduates. Residents will work at three University-based hospitals and Los Angeles General Medical Center, all located on the medical campus of the University of Southern California.
Fellowship
