Curriculum & Education
Overview
The residency has a vigorous didactic program with lectures on four weekday mornings via Microsoft TEAMS from faculty, specialists and residents. In addition, we have live Wednesday morning academic half-days that incorporate education in cardiology, radiology, wellness, rural and wilderness medicine, pediatrics, surgery, substance use disorder and mental health disorders. We dedicate one morning each month for hands-on procedural workshops.
Application
Residents are encouraged to apply through ERAS. The application deadline is generally around the end of December, and interviews typically take place in January and February. Additional materials required include a CV, personal statement, and three letters of recommendation.

The majority of our residents’ clinical experiences occur at rural facilities and at the St. Luke’s Miners Hospital in Coaldale, Pennsylvania.
