Curriculum & Education

Overview

The curriculum includes outpatient care of a diverse patient population, inpatient training for managing acutely ill patients, and comprehensive obstetrics and pediatrics training. There are abundant procedural opportunities available in the Family Medicine Center and during multiple rotations including emergency rotations at a local hospital, which features one of the busiest emergency departments in the nation.

Application

The SR-AHEC Family Medicine Residency Program requires applicants to graduate from an approved medical school within the last three years of the Match year, complete USMLE Steps 1 & 2 or COMLEX Steps 1 & 2, be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (no visa sponsorship), and if IMG, have ECFMG certification. Applications must be submitted through ERAS. All application materials submitted via email, fax, mail, or any online resource other than ERAS will not be accepted or reviewed.
