Curriculum & Education

Overview

Over the course of three years our residents will receive comprehensive education in internal medicine through a combination of clinical work and didactic lectures. Our residents will rotate mainly in our primary site at Saint Michael’s in both the inpatient and outpatient centers and participate directly in patient care. Our program features a teaching-attending-based model which allows residents to form a strong relationship with the teaching attendings and various members of the healthcare team, including nurses, social workers, and case managers, to discuss the management of patients in the interdisciplinary rounds. In addition to the core rotations residents can also rotate in various subspecialties such as Cardiology, Gastroenterology, and Psychiatry. Residents can also participate in electives at hospitals outside Saint Michael's under the approval of the Program Director.
