Curriculum & Education

Overview

The Family Medicine Residency is on a 4-week block rotation for a total of 13 blocks in each training year. First Year (PGY-1) includes various rotations such as Orientation & Introduction to Family Medicine, Behavioral Medicine, Family Medicine Practice, Inpatient Floor Team, Geriatrics, among others. The curriculum emphasizes a broad spectrum of experiences to prepare residents for comprehensive care.

Application

McLaren Flint Family Medicine Residency Program participates in the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) National Resident Match Program (NRMP) and will only accept applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Paper applications are not accepted. The application requires a completed ERAS Application, Curriculum Vitae (CV), three letters of recommendation, and passing scores on the USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK, and Step 2 CS or COMLEX Step 1 and Step 2 prior to medical school graduation. Interviews are held virtually in November, December, and January.
