Curriculum & Education
Overview
The curriculum consists of various rotations, including 3.5 months of Obstetrics, 3 months of Gynecology, 2 months of Nights, 1 month of Family Planning, 1 month of Clinic, and 1 month of Emergency Medicine in the first year. Subsequent years include additional surgical and clinical rotations that enhance skills in obstetrics and gynecology.
Application
Applications to the McLaren Macomb Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency program are only accepted through the ResidencyCAS (Centralized Application Service) system. Only complete applications are reviewed. Applicants must meet all of the following criteria: 1. Medical students enrolled in an educational program provided by a college of medicine or osteopathic medicine accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) leading to the MD or DO degree. 2. Be a US citizen. 3. Have legal residency status and eligibility to work in the US. Required documents for application include: Medical School Transcript, Three Letters of Recommendation, Personal Statement, COMLEX/USMLE examination scores, and Curriculum Vitae. Interviews will be held virtually, with applicants notified to interview by invitation only.

The program provides a strong foundation for graduates to pursue various fellowships. Recent graduates have participated in dedicated sub-specialty rotations in areas such as gynecologic oncology, maternal-fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, and female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, which sets them up for future fellowship opportunities.
