Fellowship
The Emergency Medicine Residency Program offers fellowship opportunities in multiple subspecialties, including Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Sports Medicine, and EMS. Recent graduates have pursued fellowships in these areas and other advanced studies affiliated with Florida International University.
Resident Life
Overview
The program is the only ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine Residency Program in Miami-Dade County.
On Call Schedule
Shifts are 10 hours long with one hour focused on patient disposition and sign-out. Residents typically work 18 shifts in a four weeks-long block to ensure that there is time for study and scholarly activity while ensuring wellness and work-life balance.

The program is designed to be completed in three years (PGY-1 through PGY-3) that prepares residents to handle various urban and rural emergency medicine situations.
