Curriculum & Education
Overview
The 3-year categorical program trains residents in all facets of clinical neurology, emphasizing complex stroke care, epilepsy, neuromuscular crises, neurocritical care, neurorehabilitation, psychiatry, neuroradiology, clinical neurophysiology, and child neurology.
Application
Applicants must have passed USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) Step 1 and have taken both components of Step 2 and/or have passed the COMLEX (Comprehensive Medical Licensing Examination) Level 1 and have taken both components of Level 2. The USMLE Step 1/COMLEX Level 1 must be passed, with a minimum score for USMLE Step 2 CK = 231; COMLEX Level 2 = 481

Most clinical experiences will take place on the campuses of TriStar Skyline and TriStar Centennial Medical Centers. Altogether, our teaching hospitals have approximately 1500 beds.
Fellowship
The Neurology Residency at TriStar Skyline offers robust fellowship opportunities. Recent graduates have pursued fellowships in subspecialties such as vascular neurology, neurophysiology, and epilepsy. The program emphasizes experience in neuromuscular crises and trauma, especially in inpatient services that cater to fellowship training.

Overview
TriStar Skyline Medical Center is Tennessee’s first comprehensive stroke center and a national leader in neuroscience. As an ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center and an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI, TriStar Skyline is a leading provider of emergency care. The facility offers medical and surgical programs, including heart and vascular, oncology, orthopedics/spine, and CARF accredited rehabilitation. Behavioral health services are offered at the TriStar Skyline Madison Campus.
