Curriculum & Education

Overview

The program comprises a four-year educational experience approved by the American Board of Anesthesiology. This includes one year of non-anesthesia clinical training and three years of clinical anesthesia training, designed to provide residents with graduated clinical experience and feedback in all six General Competencies defined by the ACGME.

Application

The Detroit Medical Center Anesthesiology Residency Program only accepts residency applications via the ERAS system. The program is a four-year categorical residency. Application requirements include a completed application form through ERAS, CV, transcripts, personal statement, three letters of recommendation, and a medical Student performance evaluation (Dean's Letter). USMLE or COMLEX Step 1 scores are required, while Step 2 scores can be submitted after the application deadline. Please note that the Detroit Medical Center only sponsors J-1 visas and does not sponsor H-1B visas for foreign nationals.
