Curriculum & Education
Overview
The program consists of a 1-year internship followed by 3 years of clinical anesthesia training which includes both fundamental and advanced aspects of anesthesiology. Each year increases in complexity and challenges, with various specialties covered throughout the residency. Residents also have opportunities for research training, global health experiences, and outstanding fellowship placements.
Application
Applications are accepted via the Electronic Residency Application System. Applications are accepted beginning in September and while there is no deadline for applications, well-qualified applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Interviews are conducted from October to January.

Resident Life
Overview
We are one of the largest anesthesiology residency programs in the country and are situated in one of the world’s premier destinations. Each resident administers more than 500 anesthetics per year under the direct supervision of a full-time academic staff. The residency experience covers the entire spectrum of surgical subspecialties and settings.
On Call Schedule
Call schedules vary based on location and year level, from four to seven rotations per month. Many rotations work on beeper call schedules. In general, shifts have been limited to no more than 16 hours of continuous duty.
