Program Overview

Summary of Residency Program

The Urologic Surgery Residency Program at UC Davis aims to prepare future urologists for careers in academic or community urology. The curriculum includes comprehensive training in urology, covering sub-specialties such as urologic oncology, endourology, laparoscopic urology, robotic surgery, and pediatric urology. Research is encouraged particularly for residents pursuing academic careers. The program has an ACGME accreditation for 13 positions and fosters an approach that includes increasing clinical responsibility and independent decision-making in patient care during the residency's five-year duration. Residents not only develop proficiency in treating a wide array of urologic conditions but also get opportunities to engage in research to help segue into subspecialties.
