Curriculum & Education
Overview
The curriculum for first-year residents (PGY-1) includes rotations in General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Transplant Surgery, and Surgery ICU at various hospitals, amounting to roughly 70 weeks of hands-on training.
Application
Applications are accepted through ERAS. Interviews are virtual and will be held in November, December, and January. Categorical interview dates are: Wednesday, November 15, 2023; Wednesday, December 6, 2023; Friday, January 5, 2024; and Friday, January 19, 2024. All applicants must meet specific criteria: applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States, must have a passing score on USMLE/COMLEX Steps 1 and 2, and must be graduates of LCME-approved schools. ECFMG certifications must be complete for international graduates, without requiring prior US clinical experience. Documentation needed includes three letters of recommendation, dean's letter, medical school transcripts, USMLE/COMLEX scores, personal statement, ECFMG certificate, CV, etc.
