The Anesthesiology Residency Program at McLaren Oakland does accept applications from international medical graduates (IMGs). Candidates must have a valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) prior to appointment. However, it is noted that they are unable to sponsor any visas.

Curriculum & Education
Overview
The curriculum includes rotations in various fields such as OBGYN, Pain Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, ICU, General Surgery, Cardiology, Neurology, and Anesthesiology. Training is supplemented with daily teaching conferences, formal lectures, and a weekly journal club, focusing on quality patient care and procedural training.
Application
Applicants should submit using the Electronic Resident Application Service (ERAS). This is the only avenue by which applications will be considered. Candidates will not get special consideration by circumventing the process and emailing the program director or graduate medical education coordinator. Interviews will be held virtually only. Applicants meeting the selection criteria will be contacted for interviews by email. Interview starts in January.
